| Parts Manager Apr 15, 2013 Issue | | | - On the question of sublet repairs
A constant source of friction in dealerships centers on how sublet work should be handled. This is important to parts managers because in most stores sublet repairs are priced and charged out on the repair order by the parts department. When an outside vendor uses its own parts on the sublet repair, service advisors often feel that the parts department shouldn't profit because the parts department didn't supply the parts for the sublet repairs. Furthermore service advisors feel that there should be a minimal markup because the repairs weren't performed at the dealership!
