As the Thick Film Ignition program winds down, Ford has closed the VIN eligibility website. The class action settlement covered several vehicles from 1983 to 1995 that were equipped with the TFI module attached to the distributor. There is a static list of eligible vehicles at www.tfisettlement.com/vehicles.html.
The program (code 57M99) covered the affected vehicles for up to 100,000 miles. It has been around for the past four years and the claim rate has slowed to a trickle over the past several months.
Even though the VIN eligibility site is down, you can still submit claims when necessary. You are eligible to use two actual time operations for replacing the defective module under the program: MTDIAG and MT12A297. |
